Storage and Preparation

Parsley should be washed in a large bowl of cold water just before use. The flat leaf variety is better suited for hot dishes and should be added in the end to preserve flavor and nutrition. Flat leaf parsley is best stored in a tightly sealed container in a cool dark place after it has been dried on a kitchen cloth whereas the curly leaf variety is more suited for freezing and should be used without thawing.

At Deena Organic Farm, we grow both the curly variety as well as the Italian flat leaf variety which is more fragrant and less bitter.
